The farm is ideally placed for a quick exit from the N3 national highway. We are also midway between Johannesburg and the Natal coastal resorts. Set in the beautiful bushveld of the Natal Midlands, 10kms from Estcourt and the N3; Slievyre - A private nature reserve provides the perfect place for family reunions, quiet holidays, romantic getaways or just an overnight stop. The camp is situated within approximately one hectare of fenced mature lawned gardens and consists of five traditionally built stone and thatch chalets. The camp comfortably sleeps fifteen people and extra beds can be arranged if required. Three of the chalets are twin/double, one sleeps three people with the fifth being a six bed family chalet. All have private/en-suite shower rooms and the kitchens are equipped with all self-catering facilities. Whilst out on the farm animals to see include Giraffe, Kudu, Waterbuck, Zebra, Wildebeest & numerous smaller antelope. The farm is also home to more than 200 species of birds.

FacilitiesShould you wish to spend some time with us, Slievyre provides an ideal place for visits to any of the major Drakensberg Mountain resorts such as Mont-aux-sources, Cathedral Peak, Champagne Castle, and the popular Champagne Valley, Injasuti and Giants Castle (with its historic Bushmen paintings and caves). If arts and crafts are your fancy, then the Midlands Meander situated in beautiful country is only half an hour's drive away. Two African Game Reserves: Weenen Game Reserve and Spionkop Game Reserve are also only 15 to 40 minutes drive away. Here game such as White and Black Rhino can be seen amongst various other species of buck, Boer War Battle Sites are close by: Churchill's armoured car de-railment site, the battle sites of Spionkop and Colenso.
DirectionsTravel along R103 through Estcourt towards Frere at Jacques Abbattoir turn right onto dirt road, travel along this road, upto main gate, please proceed for another 5kms to the camp area.
