Stocklands Farm Bed and Breakfast

Stocklands Bed & Breakfast accommodation in Howick Kwazulu Natal

Description

Set in 10 acres of garden and pastures, this 150 year-old stone house with original yellowwood ceilings and doors offers luxurious accommodation in either private en-suite bedrooms or in self-catering cottages.

All rooms have their own entrances and secure parking. Electric gates and an intercom system control access to and from the farm.

Located on the Midlands Meander, there are many little shops where you can buy cheese (or learn to make your own), see locally made art, try on leather shoes or mugs of local beer, shop till you drop and eat to your stomach’s content. Midmar Dam is a 10-minute drive away and offers sailing, water-skiing and boardsailing, pleasure cruises and game viewing. Golf, fly-fishing, horse riding and a treetop tour can be arranged if you are looking for a bit of adventure.

Stocklands Farm shares a common boundary with the Umgeni Valley Nature Reserve where there are opportunities for walks, bird watching and game viewing. Here you can see the mighty Umgeni River meandering in the valley, giraffes grazing on acacia trees,  antelope of all sizes and  beautiful Zebra!

At Stocklands we are passionate about providing our guests with the best of local produce. We guarantee that at least 60% of the ingredients that we use are grown, caught, picked or plucked here at Stocklands. If we do not have it, we will buy, barter and bring from our neighbours and local community. In our efforts to combat global warming and help save the planet, we recycle all plastics, glass, metal and paper. The kitchen waste goes to the compost heap, stewing there happily with the ever-obliging donkeys’ manure. Our patient gardeners tend the homegrown fruit and vegetables we serve at breakfast. All the eggs that we serve are from our genteel lady hens ranging free on the farm.
